We entered the new church. The sacristine, Sabine Tiha, was giving a tour. She invited us to join. Afterwards she took us to her office and showed us photographs of the US troops in Baccarat during World War I. The old church was occupied by the Nazis in World War II and destroyed by the Allies in October 1944. She also said that the graveyard containing Rouge Bouquet casualties (see link to May 31, 1919 Leslies photo) was gone. She later sent me a file of photos. All are included below to give a sense of what US troops experienced in World War I.
